Hi. Just registered here to say I have the exact same problem as everybody else here with Vista 64-bit. I don't know exact how much of the cpu it uses, but if I start Digsby, all windows starts to slow down when I move them around fast, I can't play any games because it's a hugh slow down, both in the games menus and in the game, everything moves in a steady slow motion
EDT: Saw that my explorer.exe goes from 01 to around 19 when I start Digsby
As soon as I exit Digsby, everything is back to normal. I really love Digsby, have been using it for about a month now, but I really can't use it right now. But I would love to come back when the problem is fixed Will keep an eye at the blog Good luck guys, really appreciate your work!
Edt. Forgot to say write down my system if that will help. Vista 64-bit Business Service Pack 1 2CoreDuo E6550 - 2,33 ghz 4 Gb ram
Peace //Kejlsn

Yeah, I just noticed tonight that after exiting a game is when Digsby starts to act up. One of the Digsby employees alerted me to the mouse cursor work around and it does indeed work for me as well.
So fucking weird

Hey bwat47, I checked out the tips but nothing special happend :S The shadows is enable by default and the cpu goes wild no matter if the shadows is on/off. Sometimes the cpu is high, sometimes not, I can't see a clearly pattern why this is.
Have somebody made a thought about the graphic cards? I use ati with latest drivers, I think I can see a connection between ati catalyst center and Digsby when it comes to play games, but I'm not sure.
Gaah, I hope the developers are well-informed about this issue? Hope it is top priority til' next bug fix

I actually never noticed it until I upgraded to an AMD card a few weeks ago, so you may be onto something, Kejlsn

Oh wow. I just realized this also happens on my 32-bit Vista system, except I didn't realize until now because I always have pointer shadow enabled but something must have disabled it today (a game maybe?) It's also closer to 50% usage on my system, but I'm only on a slightly overclocked Athlon XP 2700+.

If everyone having this problem would kindly follow the steps below, I hope we can glean some commonalities.
1. Press Windows Key + R (or go to the Start/Windows menu search box) 2. type "dxdiag" (don't type the quotes) 3. click OK or press Enter 4. click "Save All Information..." (located at the bottom of the window)
It may take a while to collect information before a save dialog comes up.
5. Choose XML File from the "Save as Type" field 6. Save the file somewhere 7. Attach the above file to an email and send to chris@digsby.com
Thanks in advance for your help.

While enabling the pointer shadow works, some games (Crysis) will disable the pointer shadow when launching, causing the game to stutter badly if Digsby is running regardless if you have the mouse shadow checked or not.
Additionally, Crysis doesn't re-enable the mouse shadow when exiting the game, so you must remember to do it manually or have poor performance in Windows and other applications.
A real fix would be splendid

Just to confirm, I had the same thing happen today. I'm running Vista 64-bit, and I noticed Digsby was taking up about 20% CPU after playing Fallout 3. I went into the control panel, enabled the pointer shadow, and voila... digsby immediately started to behave.

Still getting this problem either way.. shadow on or off. This is the reason why I'm not using Digsby atm. Wish this could get fixed one way or the other.

I'm experiencing this issue. I even tried opening Digsby with no other apps open - the CPU usage will jump up to 40-50% every 10-30 seconds. This is very annoying when I'm trying to play games but want to leave some IM conversations open. >_<

I just registered just so I can let the devs know I'm having this issue as well, it's pretty bad on my machine that I can't even open up the menubar & change my preferences.
It just crashes bad and doesn't let me do much of anything else on my machine. I can't even open up Task Manager to see what it's doing, I have to log off & log back on. I've re-installed Digsby twice now and both times nothing has changed.
I would love to be able to use this app, which is why I'm providing feedback on something that's not even currently installed on my OS :-)
Thanks!

Like I said above, this is the only reason why I'm not using Digsby. I really like it, but can't play video games when its on. Hopefully the devs can find out why and fix the problem.
