Once Digsby becomes a real contender perhaps we'll see it, but right now it's the Opera to Trillian's Firefox. sad

Wait, what? lol You have it backwards. Opera is the company that innovates. Firefox, Chrome, etc all steal features from Opera.

Who was talking about innovation? I was talking about marketshare and integration. Opera is not very open to sharing API btw, so 3rd party stuff (like Roboform) can't be used with Opera like it can with ... every other browser. Now THAT is innovation lol

The thing is, there will always be bugs and exploits. The question is how vital are these bugfixes vs expanding the capabilities of the software?

Anyway, I will also like to see group chat, its the only thing that is keeping me from leaving Trillian.

Just registered in the forums to say you will be losing another long-time user. I'm pretty disgusted by the way this issue has been handled.

Members in this thread have been consistently ignored and demeaned by the developers. I couldn't believe a few of mike's replies in this thread. Sarcasm is clearly not an appropriate response by a support member. It's shocking to see support of this nature, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I will be moving to another client whose developers value the opinions and concerns of their user base, not here where it's already been made clear they place zero consideration into the user wishlist.

I have to agree.. there are many things that should be top priority on the wishlist but the developers don't even seem to care.

Group conferences are a necessity for many to be able to talk to multiple people to plan something, etc. I have been waiting for months now and this has yet to be implemented.

What about the simple text editing? Is it too much to ask that we be able to bold or underline a word or sentence instead of all text? Hyperlinking a line of text?

And what about the notification popups? Digsby should have options to make them smaller. There are skins to do so.. but where is the actual option in Digsby? The big notifications seriously get in the way of everything, espeically on a small screen.

I think the dev team needs to rethink what is important to them. Until I see changes.. I'm off to Trillian.

I've wanted this feature for awhile. Heck, I'd even help write it.

I registered just to say that I have held off from using Digsby for this very reason, the lack of a chatroom feature. I downloaded originally and thought, wow, this is so much cooler than Pidgin. I still think it is a great product, but if it doesn't do what I need, I can't use it.

I don't want to have to run AIM separately just for the chat feature, but I really liked everything else about Digsby.

Please fix this. I'm happy to recommend Digsby to friends once it actually has the feature I consider essential for a chat client.

I work in a development shop so I understand how the mix between prioritization of bugs, quick development and major projects work. 1 and 2 are ongoing but we always have one big project in the works. Development may be slow due to the demands of the bug fixes and the knowledge that we are improving our "products" (we are public, not commercial, thus the quote marks) with small enhancements but our users are also aware of the fact that we are working on one of their highest priorities. I guess what I would like to see, unless I've missed it some place, is an announcement when this one is in the works. Yes, I know it means that everyone will start asking when it will be done and that is a difficult if not impossible answer to give even for the big commercial companies that can throw resources at a project trying to meet a deadline. Still, I'd like to know if I should hang on with Digsby for awhile longer or resign myself to using a client I like less but that allows me to participate in Jabber conferences, as essential for my job.

No, Digsby *still* doesn't have multi-chat support yet. Seriously guys? Touting your one million members and linking to the Lifehacker poll to show how awesome you are, when you can't compete with the others on this basic feature? I switched to Digsby because of that poll, and so far I like it for the most part. Digsby is pretty, easy to use, etc. in comparison to the very clunky and confusing Trillian Astra. But if Digsby can't give me my group chat and IRC back, I'm going to have to go back to Trillian, which pisses me off immensely now that I know there's a better option for everything but that (and don't tell me to keep both on my computer - thats a royal pain).

So, basically, one more vote for chatrooms/conferences. Come on guys, its been a year.

developers said: we do not based our update to the wishlist. ok, i understand if they have to fix some bugs. but here the story: it's still number one wish and it's been one year already for a God sake!!!! do they have to fixes bugs all the year passed?!! they say it will need 6 weeks to add up chatroom feature. but they don't even started it. and voila! it's been one year already! congratulation for making a bad name in the business! i think they just got lazy. or not capable to do so. what the hassle? it's a basic feature for all IM manager. even trillian had it. they said it once: we add up to facebook chat to show everyone that we are capable. but they don't even capable to add up one basic feature. and here's the things: group chat are used not only for fun, it's a standard feature for work. but facebook... it's still the same, simple, lonely chat protocol that have no other difference to another IM protocol, and a very simple one for that. just for a facebook complement. the degree of importance is faaaaar different than goup chat.

so guys... yeah, you... the developers guys! make it worked (group chat), and i assure you... you'll have your long lost customer back. it's just logical to add this feature. because this feature is important. you need 6 weeks? ok, work it up... but i won't wait another year for this feature. thanks for your attention (and if you take a heed for our voices).

I registered here just to say that I need this feature in an IM client, and I'm really disapointed to see that its been requested by such an overwhelming number of people for so long and yet still is not implemented.

Having a 100% bug free program doesn't do me any good if the program doesn't have the features I need, because I won't be using it.

I'll bet Digsby has 1 million users ... and 2 million ex-users who are waiting for this feature. Why does this epic fail remind me of Iphone's lack of Copy & Paste pre-OS3?

I was ready to throw out all of my other message programs until I discovered this draw back. Digsby is SO CLOSE to offering all the best features of IM clients. This is such a huge FAILURE on the part of developers.

I'd also like to echo the need for this. We use this at work and this is one of the most-complained about missing features. Hope the developers can get to it soon, though judging from how long they haven't gotten to it, I won't hold my breath. Probably gonna have to install pidgin for a select few that have to have this.

Just got the email about the new Digsby release. Great, I thought, they'll have finally implemented chatrooms & conferences... But no, they still haven't implemented the most requested and voted for feature.

What a disappointment.
