Installed Digby a while ago, liked it a lot except the inability to do group chat, so uninstalled it. Got the e-mail about the latest version, was really hoping it would have the group chat function by no, but no, still waiting. As long as we're still waiting I won't be reinstalling because that's an essential function for me.

Just got the email about new release (Build 77). I thought finally they'll have group chat... But no.
Conferences & Group Chat first mentioned on this forum 10 May 2008, added to the "wishlist" on 22 May 2008, the most popular and most voted on item in the wishlist during the last 2 years, constant promises from the developers that it's "nearing" the top of the list, every other IM client has it, and yet it's still not implemented in Digsby.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

New version and still no chat room options. Nice fail, digsby. Looks like I will be staying with trillian for the long haul. You will never beat them. They are light years ahead of you ...

Hmm let's see. Trillian is about 10 years old, Digsby is about 2 years old. So that's 8 years Trillian has had to get it's core features working properly. Trillian had got complacent until Digsby came along and Trillian rushed out Facebook and Twitter support along with better email handling in response and they failed miserably.
Fine, we get it, you use Trillian and prefer Trillian. So go and stick with Trillian instead of constantly posting in here that you use Trillian and think it's god's gift.

It is quite simple. Trillian has been around a shorter time, but are further ahead. Digsby refuses to add croup chat features, so I refuse to stay with them. The longer they take to put it in the longer people are going to not use them. Group chat should have been the first thing they had. It is the main staple to all chat clients. I guess the makers of digsby don't feel it is important. All I can say is that it is there loss, not mine.

tirllian has been around for a shorter time? well... that's new to me especially since i used 4 different messengers in the time i simply waited for trillian astra to get out of alpha state^^ like carbonize said: 10 f... years dude. digsby will have group-caht in less than 9 years, i guarantee you They didn't feel like it's important because it isn't as important as you pretend it is. so go ahead and live happily ever after with trillian.

I think Digsby is focusing and should be done first, but will use Trillian until then because I need conferencing that it does already more than the foo-foo stuff that Digsby does already.
At least it's only been 2 years or so.

Adding my request for group IM ability. I've inspired many in my office to use Digsby, but it's not getting the mileage it could because of the lack of this feature.

group IM is a little different from conferences and chatrooms, but both features are welcomed and should be implemented.

Got the email from Digsby a few days ago subject "Welcome to ChatVille!"
"Finally" I thought, we've got chatrooms/conferences! Yay!
But no... Disapointed yet again. This is just some bullshit facebook app, which looks like it does exactly what ChatRoulette does.
Just keep shitting on your users.. It's great. Really, it is...

this was released a few weeks ago, in build 81 (r27909). you can read more about that release here. make sure that you're up-to-date by checking help menu -> about digsby for a build number. you should have 28139.
