Store chat history online

It would be amazing if you could have all of your chat history(and other history such as emails, file transfers, tweets, etc) all saved online so that when you go and use another computer, or you reformat your computer, or in some other way lose access to your locally stored logs, you can still access them. Similar to how the Meebo client(www.meebo.com) does it.

You do like it stored only locally? Why is that?

This is what would persuade me to compleatly switch away from bitlbee. Either central storage or doityourself style. I'd really love it. Promise

I would like the option to store it locally or store it online. I think it would be best.

Oh yes, of course. No reason to remove a feature that Digsby already has.

FYI GTalk conversations are already logged under GMail > Chats.

Actually, this could be quite easy. Check out http://www.im-history.com/
It's a service that has made several plugins available for Skype, Yahoo Messenger, AIM, Live Messenger, ICQ, Trillian, Pidgin, Miranda, and QIP. They have an open API.
It's a free service. Once you install the plugin with one of those messengers, all your chat logs are saved and you can search it through the web interface.
Once there is a plugin architecture, I bet this would be a snap to integrate.

Im History looks like a good site...great idea, but can it work for digsby.
if/when they release their service api, and if it's what I think it should be, I'm sure we could get this going. I don't want to use a dll that only works on windows, and I really don't want to have to reverse engineer an API, especially one that will probably be released in an easier format.
edit: seems like they have something for linux, too, but I'd still prefer something more like just a released pure web service api.

This would be great since I switch between two computers in my house. It's annoying to manage separate logs.

same. maybe a little app to combine multiple log directories together? with proper handling of duplicate filenames, of course.
