Any chance of getting support for digsby to connect to Microsoft Live Communicator? I believe it uses a SIP protocol. Currently Pidgin is unable to do it, but I believe Trillian has this capability.

+1 This would definitely be a great addition to Digsby.

Is this what allows you to see who is logged into Xbox Live on MSN? If it is, I too would love to see this added.

I agree! Please add this protocol so we can use Digsby at work!  Miranda and Trillian Pro both have plugins for it.

You can find the source for the Trillian LCS plugin here:

Here is the plugin for miranda:

One caveat is the sdk for LCS/OCS is windows only, so it would take away the cross platform support.

Hmm...SDKs are for wusses. ;-)

...I only say that when I can't use them.

well there is this one guy who didn't use a sdk, he reverse engineered the protocols. It works with TCP connections but not with TLS (encrypted, the most used with this protocol). Also I think it's a bit dodgy at times

+1 This protocol is *very" much needed since a lot of corporate offices use Microsoft Live Communications Server(LCS). Corporate offices are starting to switch from Jabber to LCS and it would be a great addition to Digsby.

At one point, I would only like the Digsby client to be the only chat client running on my machine.

This is the only thing from not being able to install this at work.  I guess I'll end up sticking with Trillian? sad

But it is mainly for office, like Sametime. Maybe it's best to keep work and non-work separate ;-)

This is a must have for me =/ I can't get off of trillian without it. While working, I use SIP to communicate with internal people, and i still have to connect to yahoo, aim, etc for the rest of the world.

You might find this helpful when trying to understand/implement how OCS (SIP) works.

Ohhh God... I would love jumping to Digsby (from Miranda) but... can't until it supports MOC as this is what I use the most at work.

Is this planned ?

Microsoft dropped the Web API between 2007 and 2007 R2. Doing the full SIPE method would probably be the best way to go.. However since I use R2 at work and heavily use the Desktop sharing, I don't think I would use a 3rd party client on my desktop.
