Character count for GTalk?

I'm updating both Twitter and Identi.ca via Ping.fm's integration with Google Talk.  So when I'm typing a new message to Google Talk from Digsby, it's crucial that I know whether or not the current message is less than or equal to 140 characters.  Is there a current way to enable or add that functionality?  If not, can you please get it in an update soon?  Thx.

No option for this at the moment i dont think, although cool idea. You should put it on the wishlist OR another idea is to request that the digsby devs take a look at the Identi.ca api and implement it into digsby similar to twitter. You could get a few more features then.

This could then be added to the "status update broadcast", which has been requested already. This would update your twitter and Identi.ca for you with no need for ping.fm, wink.

I would prefer a character count...  It's useful sometimes, especially as some services default to fixed length messages, so it's good to know either way!

Thanks,
Jake

I use ping.fm, too, and a character count is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for suggesting it! This should totally go on the wish list.

This would be quite useful overall. Especially for having a conversation with someone when they are mobile on AIM
