Specific buddy alerts

Hi-- I'm surprised to find that I can't set buddy-specific alerts, i.e.: Sound when X signs on/returns from away.
Is this being implemented soon? When I right click a buddy and say "Alert me when..." it just takes me to the general alert settings.
Thanks!

This has now been added to the wishlist. Go vote if you'd like this!

I hope this is implemented soon. It seams like it should be there due to the option in the menu if you right click a contact.

This is one feature I've missed since switching from Pidgin. Voted on wishlist.

I miss being able to set specific buddy alerts so much, it is the one big flaw in digsby for me.

I sent an email to them earlier before seeing the wishlist.

I really would love to have this feature!!

this is a type of buddy pounce that is good, there are other types that can be bad and annoying...

It seems like this already exists, but then it just takes you to the general settings =/. +1

Yes, this is definitely a necessary feature.  Especially when I'm at work and need to talk to someone who is away.  I need a notification for when that particular person comes back to their desk, so I don't have to keep running over to their cubicle to check every 5 minutes.

+1 Maybe one should close this topic, after adding links to the other ones, too? wink

I was also going to suggest this, but noticed that the thread also exists. I also recently bumped another thread about text formatting, which needs to be addressed!

What is it with people misunderstanding the idea of a buddy pounce?

Anyway, I think this is a great idea as well.

yay, didn't know the wishlist existed. Just went and voted. my only two issues with digsby is that I can't use it during games because of the FPS stuttering issue, and there are no buddy specific alerts (or "pounces" in pidgin). Hopefully they fix aim file transfers/direct connection transfers as well, and then add native webcam support. hells yes. If all that came true, I'd pay for digsby. The program is just really nice, and it's great to see how good they did with the UI and how smooth everything is - yet using python? awesome. I'd imagine their language choice will help them with multi-platform releases in the future as well.
