Secure IM?

The lack of Secure IM is pretty much the only thing keeping me from ditching Trillian.

Do you guys have any plans to implement this?

If their is a standard way of doing this for each protocol then I would most definitely bet on having it at some point, just "when" is not really planned.

Better than using SercureIM (Trillian's protocol), use OTR instead.  The protocol is cross-platform, has tons of implementations for different clients, and is well-documented.  It should be fairly simple to adapt OTR for Digsby based on current implementations.

I would agree 100%. This is a MUST HAVE!  I would dump trillian as well if this was available.

I agree that OTR is the way to go. OTR is the most secure protocol and like Fangs404 mentioned, it is supported by many different clients (including trillian, pidgin and adium).

Yes, another must-have for me!  Being a recent ex-trillian user, I'm trying to keep myself from switching back and having an option to send encrypted messages would definitely help out!

Definitely agree with secure chat with a certificate-based handshaking among chat participants. My company must do everything HIPAA Compliant, so securely chatting across offices is a must. I've gotten so many people here using Digsby already, and I'd hate to have to switch off of it based on our new policies.

OTR is very good at securing instant messaging.
