Text formatting for individual words

I noticed I was unable to underline a single word of a sentence. The same would be applicable to bold/italic/etc.

Could we please allow text formatting to only effect highlighted (and untyped text)?

I did notice that HTML code effects chat windows, that was pretty neat

The ability to format hyperlinks would be useful too.  I find that it doesn't always format the entire link if there are special characters in the URL, and there doesn't seem to be any way to put links into an AIM profile.

This is needed, also being able to hit Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italics, etc.

This is necessary... I don't know why it was even released without the ability to do this.

I agree. I am no longer able to bold/italicize specific words in my AIM profile... this problem also applies to color and font size formatting.

I agree.  This is a problem in both the IM window and the Profile box.  I also see no easy way to implement hyperlinks in the profile box without the whole link being typed out (as opposed to text with a link behind it)

Text formatting for individual words is indeed broken.  I just noticed this.  Trying to format an individual word formats the entire text box.

I sent a report notifying the developers about this problem and they posted it up in the Digsby Wishlist. Follow the link to vote for it to be implemented!

I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented yet.  I just voted, and I see that there's nearly 1,000 votes for it.  I love the client, and this won't really have an effect on whether or not I keep using it, but it just seems like an obvious addition.

There's your reason.

There are tons of pressing issues/bugs that need to be fixed before this feature can be added.

digsby please add italics! your program is great but i really like italics, i've been using regular AIM because i cant do this digsby

bump because this is a simple feature that most im clients have but digsby does not.

this was the main feature that I was most disappointed about. I just had to switch from XP to vista and I used to use messengermate and loved it, but unfortunately, it won't work on my new vista machine. a friend of mine had told me about digsby and so i figured I'd give it a shot. I love it so far, except that I can't customize my profile like I could in AIM. I liked to have different parts in different colors and sizes. I hate being forced to choose just one. please add this feature!!!
