would be really usefull if you could add this. MSN Plus added this feature to msn, a simple CTRL + SPACE would hide everything (chat windows, buddy list) into a "normal" icon (like the network icon, or some other windows icon) in the systray.

CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE would restore everything to its original form.

really handy when using digsby at work smile

take a screenshot, set it as your wall paper..and when your boss walks by, hit Windows+M. LOL, oh well. I guess that feature could be useful to some though. Would be nice when the devs have time after some other needed options.

I think the difference is that M minimizes all windows. With Win+D you can go to the desktop, but then hit Win+D again to get it all back.

... and now for something completely different

Win+M doesn't hide docked windows. Like the digsby buddy list in my setup. Doh!

I don't have a signature because they turned the [img] tag off sad

win-M is the hobo win-D.

Think about it...

win-m (minmize) it minimizes and you restore what you want.

OR

win-d (desktop) it hides all windows and you can win-d to bring them all back...

Which one's better and why?

Ouch! I tried Win+M in Ubuntu (ok, Super+M) and all the screen changed into negative colours. (Didn't remember I had Compiz installed)

Digsby's body looks purple and its face is black... xD

Messenger:Mate for AIM had a feature similar to this and it was perfect.

You could assign hot keys to different functions.  One function was "Lock AIM" and when you Locked AIM, everything would disappear to the system tray, and nothing would pop up until you un-locked AIM with the set password.  It was really awesome.

I'd love to see Digsby incorporate something like this.

Get HotkeyP - very small free app with many useful features, you can hide all Digsby windows and taskbar item with a single, fully customizable key, keyboard, or mouse shortcut! There is also hide tray icon feature and macros, so you should be able also to hide tray icon with the same shortcut.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/hotkeyp/

Since there is such a good workaround, for any program/window, I can't support this request, sorry. wink

I think the OS should handle this and not the application.

Likewise it's silly to add code to enable people to break rules at work.  That is an issue with policy and this functionality does not enhance the focus of the product, which is communication and alerting of social networking.
