Here's an idea. I love the gmail integration. I use it quite a bit for documents and calendar as well. It would be cool if you could have a reminder of your calendar posts, and maybe notifications of when shared documents have been updated (like the facebook notification).

I like the idea of google calendar integration, just for a quick glance view at the day's events, and definitely for popup notifications of reminders.  Great idea.

Google Calendar implementation is a great idea. I've been looking for an application that implemented the Google Calendar API but didn't find one.

Hopefully the devs first focus on making the core of Digsby stable and later find time to implement these features. smile

Yeah, I would actually use GCal if it was right in front of me all the time. Definitely a worthwhile feature.

Yeah, that'll be a great feature but looking at how even major Email and PIM applications struggle with that stuff, I somehow don't think it will be that simple or viable to do at this stage.

I have been trying several solutions to sync the google calendar with a non-microsoft email program that includes a calendar.
I eventually ended up with thunderbird+lightning and it's buggy extensions. Very unreliable, had to give that idea up sad

There simply is no good non-microsoft solution for this.
If Digsby can do this, i am fairly certain that this feature will make Digsby a killer app.
Also, Digsby is the perfect candidate for this, it's already got the knowhow on the gmail integration part, integrating the google calendar is only one more step to take.
Also, Digsby already provides email notification, adding calendar event/alarm notifications would simply make sense.

It would be wonderful if Digsby would be able to bring google calendar to the desktop and therefore providing one integrated desktop solution for both the google calendar aswell as gmail.
Combine all that with another freeware app called oggsync for synchronizing all google apps with your mobile devices and you've got a complete email solution that is available anywhere, anytime wink

If al non-microsoft products fail, maybe you should try Microsoft?

So do I. Looks like IE7, except it actually passed the standards test. Big whoop? I thought firefox and opera already could do that. MS needs to actually do something if they are going to change the product version up a whole number. As far as I'm concerned IE8 should really be called IE7.1

I don't have a signature because they turned the [img] tag off sad

Challenging as it sounds like this would be, GCal integration would make digsby a killer app for sure.

Here's a thought... let the Google Calendar API change your status message when you're busy

iCal feed support would be a great start to working with Google Calendar. It would be nice to get alarm notifications and be able to see the day's events, all possible through a vanilla iCal feed as far as I know. Oh, and +1 to LordSteve's suggestion of automatic status changes, AFAIK that could be implemented with vanilla iCal feeds, too.

Pretty sure that the notifications feature rolled into Google Talk Labs Edition could be implemented without using the Google Calendar API.

Gcal notifications would be great, as would a global hotkey to quick add an event.  Maybe there could even be a "contact group" with the Gcal agenda???

Sad to see this had wasted away, so here's a /bump - if Digsby supported Google Calendar, literally my entire life would be supported by this program.  And for you developers looking to make a buck, well, once you've got my entire life going through your software, I'll pay a bit for the service.

I don't really care about the Google docs part, but if Calendar and maybe RSS reader were integrated, then Digsby would be the one stop spot  for communication and notifications of what's going on, which is I think the best way to frame what you guys are building.

So, yes, big ups for Google Calendar integration.

I also need to give my 2 cent on this integration of Gcal. That would be great!!!
