"Gaming mode" or just enhance the "Away" mode

I love playing games on my PC, but sometimes the little popups saying that people have come online etc. get annoying during games. Can you temporarily disable them while in either a "Gaming" status, or the "Away" status. Then when you come out again, re-enable all the ones that were initially disabled.

In Digsby Preferences under the Status option you can set it to disable sounds and/or pop-up notifications while you are in away mode.

i logged a bug for this, but Neurolizer's suggestion might work [providing you remember to set yourself away before playing a game] maybe a full screen app/auto away/busy feature would automate the process further?

We will add options for what to do when running full screen apps.  By default it will:
* hide all im windows
* disable popups
* disable sounds

I was watching a full screen video over @ Hulu.com and Digsby was popping up notifications over the full screen flash video. I wouldn't mind it if there were teenie "mini" popups in the very bottom left of the screen that showed an icon that you have a new email or a new message or a new facebook notification; When you click on the little mini popup it'll show you the full normal popup.

Wouldn't mind that at all.

Yeah, I think we could be able to choose the size of the notification ballon, as well as the font size.. At first I liked it but now, with notifications coming out almost every 5 seconds it's kinda annoying not being able to put them smaller..

Can you add "Busy" Status? Because Away status isn't good..People will thought I'm away but actually I'm on the computer and just doing some assignment.

If there's a "Busy" Status, We can "Auto Busy" it when running full screen application, right?

you can set busy if you're logged into an account that supports it. right-click (or click and hold) on the colored circle next to the status text field (it'll be red, green, or gray in the default skin). keep in mind not all protocols differentiate between away and busy, and neither does the digsby GUI.

as for the feature request of the topic, it will probably be implemented soon.

i understand what you mean, but some of us like our IM windows to pop up but we dont want it to when we play a game/watch a movie.  and yes, we can turn it on and off....so are you suggesting we open our preferences and change that setting EVERY time we want to do something full screen?!?

i think the idle solution is for digsby to detect full screen apps, and disable functions (popping up, etc etc) while programs are full screen.

also, while on the topic...

how difficult would it to be to make new conversations open a new window/tab (not minimized) but have it NOT take focus?

i saw the update to the alpha build and thats not what we were talking about...now it starts minimized, minimized to tray, or pops up and takes focus.

not to insult as i honestly dont know...but is it really that hard to make the window pop up but NOT take focus?  xfire has done it since the beginning
