Digsby Widget on Facebook Fan Pages

Currently, the Digsby Widget for Facebook can be added as a box to a Profile, but NOT to a Fan Page.

Why on earth not?? Think of the potential for businesses! Customers can have a LIVE CHAT with a representative, using the Digsby Widget, right there on the company's Facebook Fan Page.

I really like Digsby, but my company needs a Live Chat solution for our customers. Please don't force us to find a workaround when this feature should exist already! Thanks!!

(on a side note, PLEASE move the 'Go back' link away from the 'Preview' button on the 'Post a new topic' page... I'm sure I'm not the only person who's had to rewrite their entire post because I accidentally clicked 'Go back' instead of 'Preview'.)

I'd think you'd want a way to have multiple digsby accounts behind the same widget for this to really be useful, and then some way to delegate where to direct incoming requests. Group chat functionality would perhaps make this more viable.

I don't see this happening anytime soon.  Not a bad idea, just not on our TODO list right now.

I took a look at the settings for the widget app, and it seems like it should be able to be added to pages as a "box", but I can't seem to find a setting for this.  If you have an idea (specifically) what sort of setting/API I need to be looking for, please let me know.

I think you're looking at the Edit Applications page, which only shows settings for adding the Digsby Widget to a Profile:



Typically, if a Facebook App can be added to a Fan Page, there will be an 'Add to my Page' link below the App icon on the App:



But when I click 'Add to Page' - I've already tried it with two other Fan Pages I admin - it doesn't show up in the Boxes tab on either of them. Why does the option exist when the Widget doesn't show up on Fan Pages?

I'm not a developer though, so I can't tell you what you need to make it work. All I can say is that it would be an extremely valuable feature to social media marketers and customer service reps.
