Status icons

Hi,

I've noticed that the status icons for "away" and "busy" are the same in every skin I have looked at. I am trying to customise a skin to have my own icons, but I would like to differentiate between the "away" and "busy" statuses by having different icons for each.

I thought it might be as simple as adding the third line of:

statusicons:
  available: statusicons/available.png
  busy: statusicons/busy.png
  mobile: statusicons/mobile.png
  idle: statusicons/idle.png
  away: statusicons/away.png
  invisible: statusicons/invisible.png
  offline: statusicons/offline.png
  unknown: statusicons/unknown.png
  typing: statusicons/typing.png
  typed: statusicons/enteredtext.png
  nowplaying: ../../AppDefaults/notes.png

to the skin's skin.yaml file, and adding a new graphic to the "statusicons" folder, but it didn't work.

Is "busy" treated internally as the same as "away"? If so, surely this is wrong as the two are quite clearly different! If not, how do I target "busy" within the skin.yaml file?

'busy' and 'away' (and 'out to lunch', and 'on the phone', and ...) are all treated the same way by the buddy list display- they get a red icon (in the standard skins). they all mean that the other user has set themselves to be 'not available' in some way or another. the icons are meant to be something you can see at a glance. the "actual" status is visible in the contact's infobox thingy.

At a glance, it would be handy to be able to tell whether the user is truly unavailable (away/not available/etc) or simply unlikely to respond immediately (busy). I think that a skin author should have the opportunity to create icons to represent these different states, even if the default skin sets them all to the same icon.

i agree 100%. Tons of my friends leave their status as busy (do not disturb) all the time, but doesnt mean do not chat with me, or I dont care either way if they are available or DND. hehe

Would be great to have a different icon of totally away and actually there.

Maybe Orange for Busy/on the phone as both these mean pritty much the same thing. Leave out to lunch as using the Red icon as they are clearly not at there computer and in which case they would most often change there status when they return to there computer.

I agree, busy and away are two totally different statuses. A majority of the people I know always have their status at busy, but they can chat if it's important. Away is something totally different. I hope you can add this function as soon as possible, because I think there are thousands of people waiting for this.
