Digsby for Work

I've tried contacting the biz@ address, but have yet to have a reply.

I use Digsby both at home and at work.  Recently my company has opted to use the MSN network to provide an internal communications service for all employees.

Now, the catch is that the ToS (http://www.digsby.com/tos.php) states:

"You may use the Software while you are at work, but you may not use the Software to conduct business without a separate written contract with dotSyntax"

Now, if I'm chatting to a collegue about work, or someone drops me an IM that a client has called, that's conducting business sad  As a result I will need to go back to Trillian, or look into other alternatives (e.g Miranda), which I really don't want to do.

So, could someone from Digsby contact me (or reply to my mail from last week) and let me know how I/my company can get a written contract big_smile  What would be even better would be an official mail to say that internal comms. are fine... just to keep my software licensing dictator happy

Cheers

If you can't get this resolved, I reccomend your company look into a program called spark, it's a company IM client that doesn't connect to any external clients it's strictly business!

As much as I love Digsby, if you can't get past the terms of service issues, I definitely recommend Spark, as it even has conference chat features, aswell as file transfer. It also integrates with your Active Directory so you just log onto spark with whatever your company login name is, and if your password changes, it changes on the client aswell.

Edit: Forgot to mention, It's Free!! ^_~

I asked Steve about it, since legal stuff is sort of a mystery to me, and he said he had replied to your email (maybe it got lost in spam filters or something?). Anyway, this should clear it up:

The wording is there in case we release an enterprise version in the future.  Feel free to use Digsby at home and at work and keep spreading the word!

@mike (and Steve)

Could you ask Steve to resend please, must have vanished into the ether

Edit: ... sorry, forgot to say thanks!  Myself and a few of my collegues are now very happy.

Cheers
